Patricia added Marlene Dietrich to her repertoire in 2004 with her much-travelled show ME AND MARLENE, from which she developed DOPPEL DIETRICH. She opened with this new adaptation in 2012, and continues to tour with it ... |
In this full-length theatre show, she alternates between herself and Marlene,
engaging with her audience and entertaining with classic Dietrich songs, comic
anecdotes, a few surprises - and a chilling anti-war message.
This is a haunting and humorous look at the life, loves and songs of an icon - a life that spanned the twentieth century. From bi-sexual cross-dresser to Hollywood legend, from war-time entertainer to international cabaret star, here was a woman way ahead of her time, and who answered to nobody - not even Adolf Hitler!
Accompanied by virtuoso pianist John Miles, particularly at venues in the north of England and Scotland, Patricia is now delighted to also be working on her Dietrich repertoire with Robert Connelly at venues in London and the south. In 2021 she returned to Brighton Fringe with DRESSING UP DIETRICH, going on with it to Buxton and Greater Manchester Fringe Festivals. Last year, by popular demand, she brought Marlene back to the New Steine Hotel in Brighton with a quirky double-act: DIETRICH & HARTSHORNE. But who was wearing the trousers?
